A True Story

Military parents weep and hurt,

as our loved ones are in the desert

As we read the local paper,

we cant believe, what’s the caper?

Men and women from all walks of life,

not understanding about a strife

Some even march, scream, and yell

they are ringing the wrong bell

They are trying to swing the blame,

from this madman named "Hussein"

They march and carry signs galore,

they keep saying,

"NO WAR"!!! "NO WAR"!!!

If they would, just stop and ponder

the things he did, way back yonder

Not even, to speak of how,

he’s killing his own, right now

So if you want to point a finger

think it through, ACTOR, SINGER

The same man, woman, and child

your trying to protect all the while

He will bound, gag, and rape,

he makes their families watch and gape

He’s even used mustard gas,

we must remember this madman’s past

I feel so helpless, as my son,

will go and fight for everyone

If you think you must protest,

think about him, and the rest

They are willing to take a stand,

even in, a faraway land

So be a true American today

get down on your knees and pray

Show your proud of these soldiers,

by heaping praise on their shoulders

Because with out them today,

There would be no

Cpl Shaun Webb, the young Marine

Our Soldier

There was a boy named "Shaun"

from a town called Channahon

At the young age of seventeen

he became a fighting marine

All we could do is sit and wonder

three months later he graduated with Honors

He always said he wanted to be,

big and strong just like a tree

He wanted to become

"THE FEW", "THE PROUDER"

and his actions spoke even louder

One day the president said real serious

"We have a madman who is sick and delirious"

My Shaun sit and grit his teeth

you could tell by the wiggle of his cheek

We need the best you have to offer

Shaun stood up without a falter

"I’m willing to go, what’s the plan"?

"I will help these people", he extended his hand

300,000 stood up, just about then

and they said "Count us in"

I felt real heavy in my heart

as I knew he would soon depart

With that, I bowed my head

A bright light came on,

and the lord spoke and said

"These aren’t your everyday people,

as you can see,

they are willing to give their life,

just like me,

I will be with them

through thick and thin",

with that, the bright light went dim,

Ever since Shaun went away

its hard to get through each day

But when we start feeling blue

we know the Lord will see us through

The Silent Warrior

Is this the way it’s supposed to be,

Our young men and women to set us free

They are not drafted, they don’t have to go

But its in their heart and it really shows

It begins to surface at a young age,

almost like its written on a page

When others follow to try to belong

they follow the Golden Rule of right and wrong

Yes they’ve made mistakes, but they use them to learn,

they make big plans and they stick to them firm

Their visions are different than most we know,

when their country calls they don’t make a show

they don’t balk and protest they say "I’ll go"

Even though they’re quiet and often not heard

they live by the saying "Actions Speak Louder Than Words"

So when the conflict starts and you need a protector

find this silent warrior, not a defector

He will be easy to find, as you will see

his head will be bowed, down on one knee

"Our father which art in heaven,

I will go forth in your name,

give me the strength to fight

and help me bear this pain

If it’s in your will that I not make it through,

please let them know I was your chosen few,

and I pray too for all the rest

with your presents and guidance

you make us the Best"

Now he is ready to carry out the plan

for his commander-in-chief in a foreign land

He puts on his helmet and picks up his gun

he knows what’s ahead will be no fun

There will be bullets, bombs, and death galore

In the name of LIBERTY & FREEDOM

we must fight this war

When all is said and done,

and our soldiers come back

you can say one thing for sure

"Thank You for the NEW IRAQ"

Lisa, Shaun, and Bradley

Lonely

Sometimes you think of the past

and you hope some things will last

You blink your eyes and time seems to fly

Seems like yesterday the kids wanted you to play,

they ran and jumped for joy when they got a new toy

Now they are all grown and they are never at home

One is in a faraway land carrying out a military plan,

the other two are in school making us proud and being cool

We take out the pictures and look at their little faces,

it just proves how time races

But if we could turn back time,

would we put everything back in its original places?

Would we keep our babies small so they would never leave,

and be happy when they wiped their nose on their sleeve?

Would we be selfish and keep our grip tight

not wanting them to go out into the night?

I’ll speak for myself in this little poem

I’ll tell you now they would still be at home

But God has a plan that is in place,

he will protect and guide them by his amazing grace

So I’ll put my trust in the one and only

because he promised

he would never leave us lonely

Lisa, Shaun, and Bradley

WE LOVE YOU
